mission

In 2006 Tony, Tim and Monica came together to perform for a missions fundraising event at their local church.  Little did they know that a year later they would come together again and, with the encouragement from a trusted friend in the southern gospel industry, form the group "EVIDENT CALL".  This decision began a flurry of events leading the group to Nashville, TN to record their first CD with well-known producer, Steve Mauldin.  They would then attend the National Quartet Convention for the first time in September 2007, appear on the regional showcase there and release their first radio single, "HIS NAME IS JESUS", to gospel radio stations nationwide in February 2008.

Brothers Tony and Tim McKinney grew up with their uncles Reese and Raymond McKinney, original members of The Kingsmen, influencing them at a young age.  Monica Carver's passion for music was ignited by her dad who taught her to play the guitar at the age of 11 and encouraged her to sing.  They all pursued solo careers in different fields of music over the years and each one has their own testimony of God's calling to use their gift for His glory. Their self-titled debut CD showcases their talent not only as seasoned vocalists but also as songwriters.  Eight of the songs recorded are originals written by Monica, Tony, Tim and Liz, Tim's wife, who also manages the group.

Individually and collectively, EVIDENT CALL presents a level of maturity in their faith and musicianship that is evident the first time you hear them sing.  Whether it is classic southern gospel, a favorite old hymn or today's praise & worship, they have a desire to present music for everyone, knowing God's anointing knows no boundaries.

The heart of EVIDENT CALL is to share the gospel through song, drawing people into His presence and allowing the Holy Spirit to minister. They love and enjoy what they do, but ultimately Monica, Tim and Tony love who they serve, Jesus Christ and want to spread the message of His love and saving grace to the nations.
